Keeping Busy!

Things are moving right along, literally. I drove a moving truck out to MN and now we sit, well on the floor........again literally!
We are here in town a few more weeks, while Paige finishes up school. My last day of work here is May 27. We will stay at my sisters for a few weeks. We have the walk and then the brew fest and then will head on out.
Things have been extremely exhausting getting everything done, but moving right along.

I tried to upload pics today from flickr. BUT it didn't work. So I'll keep trying and hopefully have some pics to share of Minneosota. I am so not photo upload savy to say the least.
My Sweet Girl turns 7 on Sunday. Easter B-day this year. I cannot beleive 7 already.
Ooooh--- where have the years gone, please time, slow down!
She is having her friend party at Build-A-Bear and we will BBQ with family on Sunday.
Easter egg hunt,burgers, corn on the cob, chip and dip, and of course we will have deviled eggs.

Landon's Hope is a great family-friendly activity. Gather friends, family and co-workers to start a walking team. There are no special skills needed to participate, simply come out and enjoy the day while supporting those affected by mitochondrial disease.

The 5K walk begins at 9 a.m. Kids face painting, food and drinks! Bicycles are permitted in Eastman Park, however, no dogs are allowed. Child care will be provided for parents with small children that wish to participate.

T-shirts will only be guaranteed to those particpants who have
pre-registered.

Where does the time go?

Time just keeps ticking away and I feel like I am finally cathing up on things. We went to Minnesota for Paige's spring break. We both desperatley needed to get away for a bit. We were able to see my mom and spend a few days with her as well as spending time with the boyfriend. Paige had a great time and now we are back to the real world. We are having issued with headaches, the last post I posted the headaches were not as bad as previous, well as they kept coming and kept having to leave work to pick her up. It seems as much as I didn't want to beleive it, she was faking them to get out of testing. They had a few stressful weeks with end of quarter testing and she didn't handle that well. This week are dealing with real migrianes and certain people keeping her in class because of the previous faking episodes. Her teachers, Paige and I are all meeting to clear things up. It's like the boy who cried wolf............. Hopefully we will get this all dealt with. She understands now she why she cannot fake the headaches. On her spring break, we did so much, Mall of America, a ton of swimming, she got her first ride on a 4 wheeler (carefully), parks. And beleive it or not, I did come back with a slightly tanned face. She really had so much fun. Now I am putting my focus on the walk and am trying to get together a prize to go out to the team who raises the most money. More on that once I get the prize confirmed.

Headaches

It has been headache week. I like to just update on here so I can come back and see just what time of year these string of headaches come along. I am calling the latest headaches, they ar enot near as bad as what they had been. She is laying down breifly and then up and about quicker. She has had a stuffy nose and allergies are high right now in our area. I gave her Claratin the other night and she woke with a horrible nightmare. She is just so sensitive to side effects of meds it makes it really tough to try and help.
Over all she is her happy, energetic self. Not much new, it is in the 60's here, hoping to get my bike tire fixed......again! And ride bikes this weekend. So excited for the time change!!

Changes....

The house is up for sale and we are moving to MN.
I am so very excited for the move. My only concern is Paige, with her high anxiety, starting a new school. She is so fun and outgoing, I know she will adjust quickly, just worries me of course.
I have to do what I think is best for the both of us. This what not an easy decision for me only for her sake, but a very well thought out decision!

She is doing really well in school and is a bundle of energy!

Before we move, we are doing one more walk to raise funds and awareness for mitochondrial disorders. The walk again this year June 4th to celebrate Landon's B-day (May 30th). This walk once again will be in memory of Landon and Marie.
Once we move, I will still be doing a team in honor of Landon with the Minnesota Energy for Life walk, which I hear is huge! I am excited to be a part of that and carry his legacy with us.

This is what I miss the most

Reading through my journal after Landon's passing.
I would do just about anything to have 1 more morning. This is my entry from December 08.

Landon and I used to lay in bed, even though it was only 5AM, it was soo very special.
The sun would start to come up, shine through the little window and light the room.
The birds had been chirping already for hours, I would give his sweet cheeks kisses and hold his hand, and tell him how much I loved him. At times, my mind wondered about what it would feel like when he was gone. I never could have imagined the emptyness I feel without him.

Tto have lost a child is a pain soo deep. The loss of something that no matter what you do, or say they can never be back.
Those mornings are what I miss most about Landon. I think as they days go by and the sun rises and birds chirp earlier, these times will be more often. The emptiness will be there, but nothing, nobody can take away those memories. They are in my heart, in my soul. And for that I will forever be grateful.

Bieber Fever! I never thought I would HAVE to say that.
We have been watching youtube videos while dancing in the basement.
Yesterday she gave me her tooth fairy money to buy the Justin Beiber CD.

She told me the other day how much she hates school. Snow day yesterday and she says.
"I love school today mom!"
School for her is about weather or not she looks cute, hoping the boys will chase her on the playground, socializing with her friends. I have a feeling I am going to have my hands full as she becomes a teenager.
She did get a note on her report card "not at grade level" I instantly emailed her teacher to see what was going on. I got her signed up for tutoring and she is reading a book everynight, as well as special reading in school. In talking to other parents, it seems they got the same note. I think they are trying to scare us so we make sure they work harder. Well, she is working very hard now that she knows I am in contact with her teacher every week :)

Watching the snow fall, it's amazing how warm 30 degrees feels after -7 the last few days.

Happy 2011

We had a great 2 weeks, we spent New Years inside. Paige and I planned on staying up late, watching a movie and eating popcorn. Instead she spent the day on the couch with a tummy bug and trash can next to her. She asked to go to bed at 8p. I was in bed by 10p. We both brought in 2011 with alot of rest! She was feeling much better come morning.
We have really enjoyed the few weeks she has had off from school and my few days off from work. I am usually at work regardless of weather she is at school or daycare, but there's just something about not having to get up and rush around the house getting ready for school!
Back to the grind tomorrow!

Christmas Concert

It went great. She was so excited and had a great time. She was nervous up there sining, she swayed her arms and moved side to side, but she did great!!! She has her Christmas party today and couldn't be more excited to have the next 2 weeks off.
She said to me in the car last night
P- "mommy Sabrina in my class is really cute and all the boys like her"
Me-" oh sweetie you are very cute too"
P-"I know I am"
ME-" Besides you don't want a boy to like you just becuase your cute, you want them to like who you for who you are on the inside and because your funny and a great person"
P-"oh"
Me-"Shawn (LDR--"boyfriend") doesn't like me cause he thinks I'm cute, he likes me cause he thinks I am funny"
P-"UH, No your not mom!"
Too funny! Why is she thinking about boys when she is only 6 anyways! I told her to have fun with her friends and not to worry about stinky BOYS!!

She has her last Basketball game tomorrow and my sis and neice and nephew are coming down for the night. Should be a fun, relaxing weekend. I really need to do some Christmas shopping!

A bit of bragging and such

This is how we got our Christmas tree home.

I unloaded the tree off the roof of the car.........by myslef. I then proceeded too cut the bottom off with a hand saw. After hand saw would go no further (or maybe it was my weak muscles), I grabbed the sharpest knife in my kitchen and proceeded to fail. I remembered there was a skill saw in the garage..........WHOA BABY! My first time using that thing, and I am very blessed to still have all of my body parts. BUT that did the job! Managed to get the tree all set up and it looks great!
We had a great weekend with friends and family. Back to the grind and I think I better get started on Christmas shopping soon. Paige has her very first musical presentation at school tomorrow night. I am extremely excited although a bit nervous for her at the same time. Hoping her anxiety is on the low side! I showed her how to stand with her knee's bent a bit.
My older sister locked her knees once on the bleechers and that WAS NOT GOOD!

Hittin the Mountains

We are headed up to see a good friend from High School this weekend. Will be nice to catch up and have some good laughs.
Taking Paige to get her glasses checked to make sure the prescription we got was the right one and make sure they are fitting right. She has had numerous headaches again and dizziness. Hoping it is just the glasses and if not, off to the doctor's we go. I really do think it is her glasses since she is standing right smack dab infront of the TV screen. I think I tell her every 30 seconds to back up and sit down!
She has been acting fine other than that. Been dancing around the living room and jumpin off the couch having a great time. I taught her a few moves! The Roger Rabbit and The Running Man!

Mornings

My 6 yr old has decided to act like a teeny bopper and have her hair curled in the mornings. One day she won't let me brush it and the next I am brushing, hairspraying and curling. Her hair is so fine, like mine, and will curl a bit but a few minutes later goes pretty much straight. Day 1-- I heard a small wimper "my hair won't curl right" Day 2-- It was a screaming, crying mess of all messes!!! "my hair won't curl, it looks ugly, I AM NOT GOING TO SCHOOL!!" AHH!!!! Needless to say we were 3 minutes late to school. Day 3-- I moosed the you know what outta that fine hair and we got amazing curls and ran off to school to make it on time and I kept my fingures crossed that those curls stayed in until she took her face out of a mirrors site! SUCCESS!!! Day 4--She did not ask for her hair curled and as I tried to brush it I got the old "Ouch that hurts, don't touch my hair". Oh yes, it's a good day!

We had a great Thanskgiving. Went to Minnesota to see the, well ok, I guess I can say it............Boyfriend. (I don't know why that sounds so weird to say.)
Paige and I trucked 12 hours. We had great food and a great time! She did pretty amazing in the car, thanks to the DVD player and tons of patience!

She had a good time, didn't want to go to too many houses but she had a great time! She really was more excited to hand out candy, we only had 3 groups show up......but that left alot of candy for us to eat!!

Wierd Dream :(

I had a very strange dream. In my dream, I was at work while my baby was in the hospital with a terminal illness. I know sounds like my life a few years ago, but my baby was in the hospital and I was not there for him. My mom and dad were there and totally disgusted with me because I was not there to care for him. At the end of the dream, I showed up and the baby had a broviac (just like Landon) and I looked at the site and said it is infected that is why he is so sick! No one at the hospital knew how to take care for my baby with such a rare disease. I told them they had to call Dr K (a mito doc in Houston, whom I have never talked to nor met, just read blogs of other mito kiddos talking so highly of this doc). They did and they learned what needed to do to help my baby.
This dream was an all night dream, so real! I woke and fell back to sleep just to keep dreaming the same dream. I am feeling disturbed by this today. WHY was I not there for my baby? And what does this dream mean anyway. I have so rarely, in fact only a few times had a dream about Landon. I wish I had more! Maybe this is it, Mitochondrial disease have no cures, we have no where to take our terminally ill children for treatment. When Landon was diagnosed even his doctor barely remembered it coming up in all of his schooling. I hope this changes, I hope for other families out there that one day they have a place to take there child to for a treatment, with hope for there childs future. A few well known hospitals that have all the answers, all the trials for this very complicated disease.

I some how deleted my "Bed Buddies" post.
In it I discussed Paige's anxiety of going to bed, hence her sleeping with me.
Things have changed pretty quickly and she is once again back in her own bed.
Snap, just like that! Also she is afraid of the shower recently. She did take a shower (vs bath) but of course wouldn't you know it, the water/pipes acted up and made a really loud noise. That has never happened before, horrible timing! Back to the bath's, which is just fine as long as she's getting clean, that's really what matters most! I am really just glad to see some of the anxieties go away!
This weekend my LDR is hopefully coming for a few days, unexpectedly but VERY nice!!
Hope to get to the pumpkin patch!!! It is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous this weekend, so hoping to get in some good BBQ and Marg's as well! Will be a busy one. Of course my camera battery is shot, it takes a special battery. er, I will have to remember to bring that to town for a replacement tomorrow!

Mito Awareness Week

It is Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week.
Mitochondrial Cells are the powerhouse cells in our bodies, If these cells do not function properly your body's organ's fail. Life is cut way too short. There is NO cure and there is NO treatment.
4 Years ago I had no clue what mitochondrial cells were. I never realized how complex our bodies are and the tiniest of mutation in our cells are repeated throughout our bodies. 1Slight problem creates a HUGE problem. Our lives have been turned upside down by mitochondrial disease. One disease my sweet little guy is no longer fighting. Our God is good and he gets us through the most unbearable of times. I know in time, we will find a Cure for this disease and WE, (you and I) are here to help in that fight!

Loving this Fall weather

I have to admit, I am loving this fall weather for very selfish reasons!
Not only am I enjoying fall for all it is.......
*Leaves changing
*Cooler temps
*Just overall beauty!

But.........

I also am loving it because..........
*It is getting darker earlier, which means I can get Paige in bed earlier and easier!!
*Paige is sleeping in later, which means I am as well!!!
*She crawled into my bed the other morning as she always does, but she was soo cold she snuggled up right next to me and it was sooo cozy, we both fell back to sleep for 30 min!!!!
*I can put the heating pad on my back while I drift off to a deep, wonderful sleep.
*My weeds are dying off without any effort on my part
*And last but not least, I have not had to mow my yard in almost 2 weeks!! And hopefully this weekend will be the last of the season!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I love spring and summer, but I have to admit, I am ready to welcome Fall!!

Have I told you that I am in an LDR??? (long distance relationship)

This is my first experience with this, and typically I would say, No to an LDR or wouldn't even think about it! But this guy is so sweet and worth it--and was not really planned. I mean what are the odds that we would even meet being ind different states AND hit it off so well! It has only been a few month, so we'll see where (if anywhere) this goes. Taking it one step at a time! I am learning so much in the world of dating.

Paige had her volleyball game. This was her first game EVER for ANYTHING! (That she's actually shown up for). She was nervous, and yes she got "dizzy" and "headachy" on the way there. So we talked about boys, and pumped up the music in the car to get her mind off of things! She did great. She was nervous and didn't move much, but she served the ball wonderfully.

Angel---I am so there!! Sooner than later I hope!! I cannot even imagine how wonderful it would be to catch up with you and meet your husband!!!

Sleepy

I feel like I just cannot get enough sleep this week! Is it because the days are shorter, the cooler weather, allergies, work is to dang boring? Not sure, but I hope this tiredness passes soon!
Maybe I need a BIG change! Something extravagant..Maybe a beach vacation! Hmm.
Paige is in Volleyball and will have her first game on Saturday. I am really looking forward to seeing how she does. Practice is right after school and I am at boring work, so I have yet to see her play. She loves 1st grade still, not as much as she did week 1 but still likes it. If it were up to her she'd stay home all day, eat chicken nuggets dipped in BBQ sauce and watch ICarly!
I am getting sleepy so will sign off.....

School and things

Paige started 1st grade last week. She did so awesome!! I dropped her off and she ran off to play with her friends. So far we are on day 4 and no call from the school nurse!!! YAY!

Last year I got a call from the school nurse every day for the first month. She had major anxiety and a lot of headaches. I am so pleased so far this year! She loves her new teacher. He plays guitar for them and they get to listen to music. This is exactly what she needs!! A teacher to make school fun! She will be playing Volleyball this fall as well.

We have journeyed to a few water parks, numerous bike rides, movies, parks.

July and August have plagued with a few migraines. She had the worst ever a few weeks ago and that is when I decided to try Chiropractic care. She has only gone twice and they have decreased dramatically. I am hoping they will continue to decrease! Allergy season is full blown and they really get her with the migraines. Hoping the good streak continues!

She got new glasses. She needed a stronger presctiption, but the cross eyed-ness is better, her eyes are stonger, that is the good thing!

Life is going so fast, days, months, years are passing. I feel like a completely different person from what I was 3 years ago. I was cleaning out the hall closet and found Landon's baby feet print from the hospital. I cried, and thought back to that day he was born. How precious those feet were, how much I love him. Oh how I miss those tiny sweet feet.

Almost 2 years

July 27 will mark 2 years since I held my sweet boy. Touched his smooth skin, held his sweet chubby hands and kissed those sweet cheeks. Oh how I miss him.
Paige was upset/missing him the other night. Holding tight to his blanket. She asked me if God fed the babies, and of course I told her, the babies never go hungry, they are very well taken care of!
I wonder how her little mind imagines Heaven.

Today I hate cemetaries and heartless people

After 2 months of my flower pots filled with very pretty flowers sitting on Landon's headstone/concrete slab.....they have up and disappeared.
2 pots of flowers blooming just up and gone. I take these things out there so I have a place to go to mourn the loss of my son.
So that I have something to take care of since I cannot take care of my son.
I understand the cemetaries have ordinances, you know what ass holes, I have a heart and when you take the stake that was put on my sons grave site on his birthday and throw it away.......Yes I get bitter and I get angry!
Yes they do allow the stakes that planter pots hang from....and the one I had out there was stolen 3 months ago.
To the heartless asses who have nothing better to do but take flower pots filled with precious flowers......Get a Life!

has the summer gone???
I took off work early yesterday to take Paige to Toy Story 3. I picked her up from the FTC pool. BTW that pool is awesome, I had never been before. Talk about alot of people/kids! She is so lucky to get to do so much with daycare this summer.
I got there to pick her up and she is sitting out drying off. She says "Mommy, I don't know what happened....my shorts and panties are not in bag." So off to Target we went for a pair of panties and shorts so we could get into the movie. (Note to self, pack a spare set of clothes to leave in car)
The movie was great. If you have seen it, you probably remember the EXTREMELY annoying monkey that watches to make sure nobody is out and about in the daycare?
Paige woke at midnight with a nightmare and she said "mommy it was a nightmare.....it was that monkey in the movie!!!!!) LOL! So I got a bed buddy last night! Off to Chuck E Cheese to meet friends tonight.
1 month before school starts and so much that we still want to do. I am loving summer break!

This post, that is. Just have not been into the blogging! But I really want to have a place to come and write about our memories.
So much has came and gone. Paige's Birthday, Mother's Day, Landon's Birthday, Landon's Hope.
So many emotions.....
Landon's Hope was amazing once again. Such a wonderful way to celebrate both his and Marie's life.
Paige has in the last few weeks started to:
Ride her bike with no training wheels...... (I think we went around the block 100 times this weekend)
Blow bubbles....(Oh yes and about 3 packs of sugar free gum this weekend is what she went through!)
Shower.....(Baths are part of her past now!)
She is ever gowing so big and with these three things on her list, her confidence has sky rocketed and she sooooo needs that!

This morning she is in the living room and I am in my room getting ready for work.
She yells "mom, I want to read to you"!

Poor thing, got a migraine this morning, She hasn't had one in a while and April is always
her bad month. (last year I think she had awhole weeks worth) Only this one so far is not soo bad. She is feeling better, I did keep her home from school. Weather changes............UGH!
Her b-day is Saturday and she is so excited! We are having a kids pary, and an adult party....she has lots of friend young and older! How awesome!
Landon's headstone went in and it is absolutley perfect! Will post pics soon!

Been a while! Spring Break came and went. She had a fantastic time and we are back in full swing!
Soccer did not happen. When she learned she HAD to wear shin guards................weeeeellllllll.....let's just say she changed her mind and no longer wanter to play!
We won't go into the actual details :)
She would rather spend her time running wild and not follwing "soccer" rules! So we have spent our free time at the park, in the back yard, going for walks, playing hop scotch and hitting the tennis ball (pretending to play baseball). We are having a good time!
I am working on Landon's Hope, getting fliers out and getting awesome prizes put together.
Paige's birthday is coming up on the 24th, Landon's headstone should be going in very soon, then we have his B-day and then the walk.

Paige's first Spring Break! It is amazing at how they learn to love breaks at such a young age. Paige is soo excited to have some time off of school.
Today the weather will be perfect for her to spend some time with her dad, the rest of the week is supposed to be colder/snow/rain. Ugh!
We had a gorgeous weekend-- walks to the park, visits with friends, and the big one----Disney on Ice, or Disneyland as Paige would call it. Disney on Ice was a blast!
She is soo cautious at such a young age. Payed attention to ever last detail. She is not like most other kids, she is not Miss Carefree, whatever goes goes typed of girl.......She is just very cautious before letting herself go, which hopefully someday will pay off. Don't get me wrong, she has just as much as the other's, she just thinks about it first!
I am walking about 2.5 miles a day and about 3.5 on the weekends, weather/Paige allowing that is. I finally got new shoes yesterday. My legs have been hurting after walking. I am blaming it on my 5 year old shoes, soles falling off! We'll see if it really is the shoes and just my old body tiring!

We are moving right along with things. March already, cannot beleive it! Paige is signed up for soccer and will start practicing in a few weeks. It is tough to get kids in sports being a working parent. I am not sure how I will get her to practice, but will make sure it happens. Parent teachers conferences were last week and were great, prepared for 1st grade.
Had a beautiful weekend. Got things done, played, and still had time to relax!

Oh, it finally feels almost like .... March! It is about 45 dregrees, the sun is shining and snow is melting away! Yippy.....Whoot Whoot, YAY!! OH finally!
I went for an hour walk at lunch and the sun on face, felt absolutely wonderful. Too bad I had to come back in to finish the day inside.
Tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice, however, of course, we are going to Estes, where it will be......Cold! But......I don't have to be there until 230p, so I will walk before going up. I am going to see a movie with my sister---Dear John. I read the book, loved it, and cannot wait to see the movie!
Tonight I am getting a babysitter and going to dinner and drinks with friends. Paige is quite frankly, totally stoked to have a babysitter. So excited she was still up at 930pm last night, cause "she couldnt' sleep" and "wasn't tired"................and this morning when she woke at 630am, she was "Very tired". But, today it is not my worry, I will NOT be the one dealing with attitude tonight! Nope, not me! I will be relaxing with a marg in my hand!

Paige wore jeans to school today!!!! Whoot, Whoot!!!
The girl has not worn jeans since she was 2!

She was in my room as I got dressed this morning and she said, mommy I like your jeans,
I said, you should wear jeans today too and we can be twins.................... She said she wanted to.
Not the first time we've tried to wear them and the minute she see's them she changes her mind.
Not today! She said mommy, I am not gonna be able to run in PE today! LOL!
I told her girls can run in jeans! She is a riot!

*The sky lit up bright pink, clouds looking as if they are airbrushed in the clear skies and the birds soaring through the air. It is light out now when I leave work to go home, still dark when I reach school to pick Paige up.

*Walking onto the porch in 20 degree weather, though cool the sun is soo warm, listening to the birds chirping as we get in the car to start out day.

*The sight of buds starting to come out on the tree in the front yard, waiting soo patiently to blossom into huge green leaves.

*Walking around the "lake" looking at hundreds of geese standing on the ice as they too patiently wait for sping, the ice to melt so they can dip there heads in the water.

Oh it was an emotional Saturday morning, so surreal pulling into a work area with headstones covering the front lawn. We picked the first stone we saw, the design is not worked up yet, i will pick a few pictures to put on each side of his name. Paige wants a ladybug and I want a toad.
The ladybugs are well suited, everytime we go out there in the summer ladybugs are all over plants and the toad............................all little boys love toads!
As the man asked our information and asked for the name to be placed.........It took all I had to hold back the tears. But I did it. Survived. I do feel releived and it will be soo nice to look at that stone instead of plane old grass!

Ugh! Why is this soo difficutl for me. Am I in some sort of denial? We did not pick out a headstone for Landon after his passing. Quite frankly it was not priority for me nor affordable.
But thing I hav taken to the cemetary are dissapearing and that makes me very angry. We are going tomorrow to pick out a headstone so we can have a more appropriate place to go to greive, pray, cry. I am having such a tough time with this, I just cannot understan why, after all we have gone through. I am however going to be relevied when it is picked out. Maybe it is the fact that this it soo important and must be perfect, that the decision must be right because after all it will be there forever. I hope! Feeling emotional.
Paige was watching a cartoon this morning, they must have had a new baby boy in the house.
The little girl was singing to him....Little Brother, Little Brother, your hear with me forever and ever, I will take care of you, kiss you, love...................I stood in the other room and cried.

Spring Fever

I have a major case of it! Saturday was really nice, took baloo for a nice walk! Sunday on the other hand was a complete windy disaster. Could not even step outside. needless to say it was a long, boring, eat everything in the house day!
Paige had the tummy flu on Thursday. Now she has this nasty cold. She did go to school today, of course against her own will, but I am sure she will do just fine when there!
I got some much needed time to myself on Saturday night. Soaked in the tub and had a glas of wine. Painted my toe nails and watched Twilight. Fell asleep on the couch about 9p and didn't even think about crawling out of bed till 8a Sunday morning. Very nice!
I have yet to plant seeds as they are not available in the stores yet. Hopefully soon!

Spring is coming

The way the sky looks today, it makes it feel like spring. Looks like raIn clouds this morning. Paige looked out the window this morning and said, "Mommy, it looks like a tornado out". It does make it feel like spring. Gives me hope that spring is coming soon. Despite the cold weather and the snow on the ground. Spring is only a few months away! I desperately long for it.....long to see my flowers bloom, long to feel the warmth on my body, long to get out for long walks, long to watch Paige play at the park and run around barefoot!
I think it just might be time to go buy a few flower pots and get some seeds growing inside.

Get bored very easily, Hence the changing of my blog style..........AGAIN!
Since I last posted--
* I went from the age of 33 to 34. I feel good~!
*Paige started back to K and to say the least, this week has been filled with alot of crying and mind changing!
*We have watched the movie UP 15 times***sometimes not in its entirty due to leaving for K-Hence the tears!
*It is freezing fricken cold!
*Baloo is a gentle loving dog that Paige has become very attached to and to my suprise she feeds him!
* I have excercised every night to Gilad
*I have eaten 2 bags of tortilla chips in there entirty and a bottle and half of salsa---UGH! Hence the workouts!

We had a great Christmas. Family made it into town, despite the weather. Extra long/slow drive, but made it safe. I was able to get into town on Christmas Eve and pick up Baloo to take him home to surprise Paige. She loves him. Has not had much time to get to know him yet, (she is in Estes with my family/I have to work------BLAH!) He is a very good/sweet dog. More like horse. He is soooo big!
Unfortunately we did not make it to the cemetery due to the blizzard and drifting snow blocking everything. Plans were to take a tree out there. I had mixed emotions on the whole thing. I was very sad and felt very guilty for not being able to go, yet it was sort of a releif in not having to be soo emtional about it. Last year I sobbed all the way into the cemetery. I thought this year might be easier, but I sobbed just thinking about it this year. Push forward, that is what we must do, wait to till the day we are reunited. Keep the memories alive and in our hearts.

Santa shopper

Paige's school, like most, has the Santa shopper deal. They can go in and buy presents at the school.
Paige has been wanting to go and I keep forgetting. This morning she walks up to me with the cutuest expression and says "mommy I can do the shopping at my school all by myself at recess, I just need money."
I told her OK, I will give you money and only buy 1 thing you want and something for each cousin, if you have enough, but only buy it if you really like it! I gave her money and her eyes got really bit... Then after carrying it around for a while, She said "Mommy, when I am done with this money, can I reuse it!" LOL!

Really that's all that describes this crazy-freezing weather. It is snowing and has been for 2 days. It is 7 degrees. Yikes, that is the hi for the day.
This weekend we put up the Christmas tree. Bitter sweet. Our ornaments we made last year with pics on them, some of Landon, some of Paige. It is difficult to look at his stalking hanging knowing he is not physically with us to sing songs and watch the tree lights and run around and tear it all apart. It is difficult thinking about Christmas Day and taking a tree to the cemetery..............so many inoscent children lost to soo many nasty diseases/cancers/tragic accidents.....................so many brave and strong willed parents/siblings/family member/friends trecking through the tough days that must be faced.

Paige thought since the tree was up, Santa must be coming that very night! I keep telling her 2 more weeks of school and her mind keeps comprehending 2 more days! I finally showed her on the Calendar this morning and we counted 10 more days of school...........She seriously broke out crying.............."10 days, that is too long" Poor thing. I still have no idea what I am getting her for Christmas. I did tell her the other day that maybe we could go to the dog rescue and rescue a dog and that could be her Christmas gift. She likes that idea..................I am still thinking on that one :)
I am trying to get her to understand the true meaning of Christmas........... not just presents.

Long Overdo

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, holidays are different now and always will be, there is a peice of life missing and things will never be the same.................that said, we are happy regardless and we had a great time with my family..... My nephew is abosolutely adorable, at 2 months, starting to smile and I tried to teach him to stick his tongue out. He tried and I am sure at Christmas time, it will be a success!
Paige did great in the car, she did get bored and I heard a few times-------------"How Much Longer", BUT I can't really talk because we picked my dad up half way there and the last 4 hours, I asked him at least 3 times, "HOW MUCH LONGER!"
We also celebrated my princess neices 3rd b-day, she is a riot, such a beauty queen! AHd coffee with an old high school friend! That was tons of fun!

I went to have lunch with Paige at school yesterday, what fun! Those kindergardners are hilarious and full of life and energy! It was a good time.
Also Paige has started to make her own breakfast....................just a bowl of cereal, but still! Waht an accomplishment. I was in the shower when she got up yesterday and she came in to ask where the milk was! She had already pushed the kitchen chair over to get into the cabinet and get her cereal and a bowl, and could not find the milk in the fridge......lol! But she got it out and made herself a bowl of cereal...............did the same again this morning............Now if only she will do that on Saturday/Sunday morning and I can sleep in!

Days are passing by, seasons are passing by..... The holidays are here again. This year not as hard as last, but still tough.
The snow makes me want to sleep~! This weekend was a calm, relaxing, lazy weekend. Was ok though, cause we have been soo very busy. We are headed to KC next week to have Thanksgiving and my neices 3rd. b-day party. Will be tons of fun and very exhausting.....traveling 13 hours in 1 day each way.... Well worth it!
I just really don't have much to post-------------I was looking through my closet yesterday and found an unused diaper that I kept , it ripped my heart out.............WHY I have saved things like unused diapers.........I don't know, other than it reminds me of my sweet smelling, chubby cheeked, long eyelashed little boy!

I was going to start this post as Beautiful days, but as I looked through other blogs before this post, I find another sweet child that Mitochondrial Disease is taking away from his family. It breaks my heart! Our sweet children being taken from us way too soon! When this happens and I get angry I remember Landon's Hope and that fundraiser/walk means so much and really seems to be the only way that I know how to keep fighting for these children. I am really excited to see how many teams we can get signed up this year and how much we can raise for the UMDF!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here, this weekend we will head up to the mountains, see my sister, neice and nephew. Play some tennis, eat way too much food and laugh! Great weekend ahead!

Time is flying by soo fast. We went to Holyoke for Halloween, we had a great time. Josie and Paige played so good together! I feel very blessed that they have each other! Sweet Josie even wore her Landon's Hope shirt from the walk. She is sweet! I got to watch Sarah fall asleep in my arms. That girl has a smile brighter than the sun! Was great to be with Luke and Shan as always!
I had my General Surgeon appt. Great news! Says there is nothing to worry about, the lumps are a group of small cysts that have formed on the inside of the skin. He said sometimes it just happens. He said it could be caused by clogged oil glands and suggested I stay away from antipersperants. They have the Aluminum.......(whatever) in them and it could be causing clogged sebacious/oil glands, therfore causing my groups of tiny cysts. I will need to go find an all natural deodorant. Wouldn't that be something if they go away after that! Will be interesting to find out, as I just know the crap they put in our food/loitons/ect.........are horrible these days! So unless they get bothersome they will just be there, and hopefully they will go away.
All in all good stuff! Other than a few migraines the last few weeks/and 1 fake migraine that prompted me to leave work early and pick Paige up...........................She is doing great! Funny as ever! We were 10 miles outside of Pierce going to Holyoke and Paige says "What world are we in now!" LOL!
She is now loving card games! And I found Pepper (cat) climbing up in the ceiling of the basement this mornnig. Very strange! Not sure why or how but very odd!

Today, I am at work with my sweet girl. She did not have school today, so I brought her to work with me until my mom picks up after we all go to lunch! Now that's a good Friday! Today I take inspiration (as usual) from Nie Nie's blog! What love her and Mr Neilson have for each other and the strength they share! I envy the love they have for each other!
The sun is shining and it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend. I am hoping to get some time outside, sitting and reading book 4 of the Twilight series. The 4th and final! I am very excited to see where this story goes!
Thanks for all of your prayers this last week, it has been stressful, strength only goes so far before it hits like a Mack Truck at some point.
I am soo blessed with such great family and friends!
I will go in on November 2 to see the surgeon and biopsy whatever is in my armpits.

First off The mammo results are fine, nothing to worry about! Thank you Lord for that!

I am really confused because I have very visible lumps/swelling in my armpits. When I originally went to the doctor a few months ago, he said the lump felt like a cyst and unless it grew it should be ok. So it grew from pea size to a quarter size. I can reach in and grab ahold of it. He also originally told me if it did not go away they would remove the "cyst" and biopsy it. So when I went in on Monday, that is what I was expecting. He felt the "cyst" and said, yes it has definitely changed...................but more conern was that I now have something in my left pit as well. They are both very visible to the human eye..................So before they did the mammo, they did an ultrasound of my "cysts" and were not even going to do a mammo........???? I told the sono lady after she sono'd my pits, that I was there for a mammo, not sono's of my pits! She said, oh we like to start here and if they feel they need the mammo they will do it. I said are you sure! Told her I have dealt alot with docs quite and alot of mistakes/misdiagnosis's have been made! Told her the doc told me if the mammo came back ok they would take out the "cyst" and send in for biopsy. She said you don't have a cyst in your armpit................WHAT! What the Hell is in my armpits. She said I should not have told you that, the doc will be right in. Well she leaves, comes back in and says they are going to do a mammo. Go do the mammo, which they told me would take 10 days to get the results. Well the lady did the mammo and said she is going to have the doc come back. OK! I am terrified of course. The doc came back and said everything looks great! Lymphs look good and no lumps in the breast. I say well that's great, but what the hell is growing in my pits! (ok well I did not say that to her but-- really, what the hell is it!) She told me to check up with my doc, but they probably would not want to see me for a month or two. Ok, now everyone I have talked to, my docs included tell me there is never a reason you should have lumps in your pits! SO I am very confused and have a call into my doctors office to see what they want to do from here! I know my pits were huge and lumpie when I was pregnant, but that went away. My sisters both have the same thing when they are PG. SO why can I grab this thing in my armpit and it is growing but it is not a cyst? UGGH! Well I am very pleased with the fact I do not have breast cancer! Will update more when I know anything, if there is anything to know. Why do doctors make me feel like I am 100% crazy! I am not this paranoid freaky lady :)

I went to the Doctor a few months back because I had a lump under my right armpit. He said he didn't think it was anything serious, but to give it 45 days and if it grew or did not go away to go back in. It has gotten bigger and I now also have a lump under my left armpit. I had another appointment today to check it out again. He said it has definitely changed and said the left one was very noticeable. He did a breast exam and I have fibroid cysts, which I have always been told. So he is sending me for a mammogram to make sure none of the cysts are anything to worry about. I had labs drawn to check my white cells. UGH!!!! Can I please have a break!
I was feeling good, although a bit worried as I walked in, I really thought he was gonna say oh, they are just cysts and not to worry, we'll take em out biopsy just to be safe and be done with it! I wasn't feeling so sure when I walked out! Please pray this is just nothing as I think it most likely is---Nothing! The mammogram is Wednesday! I am 33, I really thought I didn't have to have one of those nasty things for a good 7 years or so!

We went yesterday and got her ears pierced. They pierced both at the same time. She was a bit nervous but not hesitant at all. she did cry just a bit of course, and I choked my tears back! I just took these pics, and she is way more interested in the Mickey Mouse club on TV, than taking pics. Her earings are pretty white daisy's. Today is my parents 40th anniversary. Happy Anniversay mom and dad. We are heading to have a picnic with them and my sisiter's family. Loving this weather.

Sass and Vinegar

That is what my sweet little girl is full of these days! She has such a grown up little attitude. Full of love, life, laughter, and so much fickin sass! I was down stairs ironing my shirt this morning, she was up watching cartoons, when the phone rang. I yelled up and asked her to answer it. I was shocked whne she actually did, usually it goes in one ear and out the other. I heard her talking and yelled "Who Is it?" She yelled It's not for you, It's my dad, -- full of sass!
I went home the other night with her Broncos Cheerleading outfit. I thought she would be soo excited. Well I got the complete opposite reaction. She crossed her arms, stomped her foot and began to cry..... "That's not what I wanted......." Oh my! So she refused to wear it! I am not sure what she thought a Broncos Cheerleader was, but obviously the outfit was not right! She watches Imagination Movers, and I don't know.... Is there a monkey on that show? That's what she wants to be for Halloween...........A MONKEY! Ok cheerleader! Whatever you say!
We are going to maybe get her ears peirced this weekend. I made the mistake of telling her they take the gun and pierce your ears with it...... OOPPS! I meant a ear piercing gun/device thingy! So she thinks she is gonna get shot in the ear! Tough to explain to a 5 year imagination how they peirce your ears! I am not real sure if she will actually go through with this! We'll see.

Wow, I just learned that today is Wednesday and not Tuesday! WOW! As I put on my socks this morning I remember thinking, ugh it's only Tuesday! I just looked at mckmama's blog and thought how is she posting for Wednesday when it is only Tuesday, I had to check my inbox to see the date. WEIRD!
The days are going so fast/ weeks even. Seems with Paige in school, we come home eat, do homework, trying to read 15-20 minutes each night. That seems like a short time, but really that is a long time for me to keep Paige's attention. But she does great. We finished her homework last night and she wanted to do more!! Awesome! I hope this keeps up!

We got her Halloween Costume today, she is going to be a Broncos Cheerleader.
The sun is out and it is warming up!
October is the month 2 years ago that we ended up in the Hospital with Landon....It is the past, but for some reason those memories come back as fresh as if it were yesterday. The season is soo strong. Feelings and emotions all come back. I was standing in the kitchen and paused....I don't know if it was the sound of the fridge, or the lighting but it just took me back 2 years ago. It reminded me of standing in the family kitchen at Children's getting my morning coffee. Holding my sweet boy day and night for a month in the hosptial. As much as I hated it, and as sick as he was, I was holding him. I would not wish that back because he was soo sick.....but I miss him so much!

I picked Paige up from School about 6p on Friday, they were in gym playing around. She saw me and ran over and jumped on me and went almost completely limp with her head on my shoulder. I asked her if she was ok and she said, I am just really tired. I took her out to get a drink of water, she was sooo weak feeling. The after school teacher said she had been acting fine and they were running all over. I took her home and she had a 100.7 temp....that quickly jumped to 101.5, I gave her motin right away, she wanted to go straight to bed, but I wanted her where I could see her. So she layed on the couch, of course the moting kicked in, although her temp did not drop too much, she felt better. The fever lasted through Saturday night. I put her to bed and it broke. She complains of a soar throat, but she has been without a fever since Sat night, so off to school she went today. It snowed again this weekend and barely topped 30 degrees, so we stayed home all weekend in our jammies! Felt good. We did make it out for a quick snowball fight yesterday.
Last night we watched her favorite show, Extreme Home Makeover. She was a bit sad afterwards, seeing a family of 13 brothers, sisters, cousins all in the same house. It is just her and I and she was sad that her brother is not physically in her life. She said "I just wanted Landon to grow" breaks my heart!!! She said she would feel safer if Landon was with us and I told her he was watching over her every move and she was very safe with her little Angel!

It is snowing here in CO, very pretty with the colorful trees.
I guess this means Summer is officially OVER...
That means, putting alot of puzzles together.......getting Paige to bed........and sitting on the heating pad while I watch my favorite TV shows, before I snoooooozzzzzz on the couch.
I must say the fall lineup with new shows has proven to be much better then past years.
Saturday night I watched Trauma..........WOW! The first 15 minutes I almost fell off the couch it was packed with drama and action!
And Cougar Town is hilarious!!! I just have to find time for dishes, laundry, vacuuming, yoga................
I need to boost my energy as fall/snow has me a bit lazy!

Paige is doing great! Loving school, no migraine for a week, I did give her motrin this morning as we had a 30 degree temp drop.........just in case!
She loves putting together puzzles and in fact other than a bit of homework and a quick episode of Handy Manny, that is about all we have been doing.
And of course it is fire safety week, uugghh! Not good for a child who is terrified of fire........bedtime was a bit of a struggle, but I bribed with candy and it worked, so croosing my fingures it continues to work, I do not want another month of not going to bed cause we're too scared!

Ugh, this disease is nasty, and this time of year is horrible for children with mitochondrial diseases. I follow alot of kiddos on blogs and caringbridge and so many of them are struggling right now. Please say a prayer for all the mito kiddos stuggling with this yucky cold/flu season.

YAY! I am an Auntie again! Yip Yip! I soo wish I was there when sweet baby boy was born!
I have been for all my neices/nephews births and if not there, hours after birth! So this is tough, to be so far away and I hope to see him around Thanksgiving time!!!

In the mean time, Paige is definitely breaking in Kindergarten, yesterday, the nurse called and she had a migraine in the morning, they gave her motrin, let her lay down, then sent her off to lunch, where she spilled juice on herself and needed a change of clothes. I went to take her new pants and she was sleeping, she sat up and I asked her if she was ok to stay at school, (trying to talk her into it!!).
I put her down and she said, I am gonna throw up................and there it was all over the nurses office!! I guess that answered my question! Man we make a great impression :) She spent the afternoon in bed, woke about 330p, and was good as new. This morning, I woke up at 6A with a major, major migraine!!!! After taking yesterday off for her, I could not take more time for dear ME! After a few meds, I am feeling a bit better.
This Colorado weather change must be getting the best of both of us!

Flu shot = No whining, No crying, No bribing! Even when she got the shot!! Ah yeah, it was a good day! And after the flu shot we had a picnic and walked the trail down to the river (yes I MADE her) for some pics! The walk was a whole 5 minutes! Yes I gave her a piggy back ride for half that 5 minutes while carrying our picninc stuff! She loved every minute of the river......... SEE

Oh How I love the weekends!!! Especially during the Fall season....
Laying under my warm, cozy blankets as long as Paige will allow me!
I have even figured out how to set my coffe pot to brew all on its own, so when I do pull my
lazy butt out of my covers, I can go poor a hot cup of coffee! Ahhh, the simple things in life!
No school today, Paige is spending the day at a friends house, hopefully being nice! She is very sweet, but when you get two 5 year old GIRLS together, you never know what might come of the day....
Paige has a cold, yucky cough, luckily no fever. We are in tomorrow morning for our flu shots!
Lovely, That means its gonna be a whiny, bribing morning, that's ok! I love it!

Mitochondrial Disease Awareness week

First I will explain a bit of what my post from yesterday was about. 2 people were talking about an adult child that was sick, and I heard Landon's story come up, which is completley fine, I want his story heard. Unforunatley the first sentence that came out included these words.....But he looked "normal"........Those words are not words I want, nor any mother for that matter, used in a sentence with my childs name. I included myself in the conversaton and started with He was Normal.....................Maybe the words, he looked healthy would ahve settled better........So anyways, I was stuck in a place where I had no one to talk to, so I came here and let it all out. I want Landon's name to come up, I want his story heard, I want to spread awareness for mitochondrial diseases, but I also want it told in a manner that any mother wants... So I am done with this and moving on.
So it is Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week, and PAige and I lit a 3 wicked candle.....1 light for Landon, 1 light for Marie and 1 light for all the other kiddos and adults who are or who have battled this nasty disease........

Awful bags under my eyes come from????? I am having a tough time pulling my Booty outta bed in the morning! The darker, cooler mornings make it tough to crawl out from under my soft , warm blankets! And by looks of my eyes, I am in need of some extra zzzzz's. Luckily for me it's FRIDAY!!! WHOO HOOO!!!
Bed time was very relaxing and calm last night! Hurray for that! Hoping it continues! She slept great, not getting up at all and I didn't have to wake her this morning! Bad Evening

Paige was in a good mood when I picked her up from school. WE went home, ate and then headed to the park. Came home did her homework, which she finished great!
Then she wanted to do melt-a-beads, and then all HELL broke loose. She started to get frustrated becasue she was tired and thing weren't quite going the way she would have liked (melt-a-beads were falling over while she was putting new ones in). A huge tantrum broke loose, and that is how the rest of out night went. She calemd down and then the whole "BED" word came up and things continued to escalate. She kept saying she didn't know how to fall asleep. She has always fallen asleep by herself on her own in the past. After an hour of trying to get her in bed (I hate that word these days) I finally ended up sitting on her bed rubbing her back and running my fingures through her hair. Which was very relaxing for her, and for me!
I am now thinking she is maybe getting a little "over done" per say with school and the after school program she is in until I pick her up at 6P. So I have ordered this http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=3951143
to help try and wind things down a bit.
Ohhh if only I had a crystal ball that went into her little mind!!!!
She was great again this morning, asked if it was a school day and after I said yes, she said YAY!!! Awesome!

She is doing so good. She is having so much fun at school. Learning so much and maturing so much. I see how much she has grown, I watch her hop off, as she pushes her nervousnous to the side, and I watch the beauty in her step.
She is soo full of energy, life.
She has this camera she got for Christmas last year, just a cheap one, but it is girlie, with pink and purple swirls....... I told her she could have my old one ( my sister gave her old one, which is nicer than my old one) She came right out and said "No yours isn't Stylish!"
She has been "scared" to go to bed and we have battled this for over a month. It has come to an extreme that it never has before. Nothing I say or do helps in anyway. We have nightlights, music, white noise, we have talked about it and I even got her a Hannah Montana flashlight, still, nothing works. She isn't getting the sleep she needs and is waking alot at night since she is in my bed. She has never slept with me before...... last night I simply had to let her cry for a few minutes and realize that I was not going to give in. She did great. I went in after those few minutes and she said "I need to tell you a secret" she wispered in my ear "I miss Landon"
We talked about him.................she asked questions, I answered, she said I want everything of Landon's in my bed.... I grabbed all of his teddy's and his blankie and she slept, in her own bed, all night long, was the best nights sleep she has had in a long time!

I want to share today, as I am missing Landon so very much! God has a
message for me as I hurt so bad. I went to pick up mail today. I opened a card
from a friend that lost her daughter a little over a year ago. (Thankyou Lisa!!)
Her message to me was that "Your saddness is a sign of how much you loved
Landon". The other letter was from Hospice, I opened the letters that were
folded, I didn't even unfold the papers and this is what I read.
The agony is
so great... and yet I will stand it. Had I not loved so much I would not hurt so
much. But goodness knows I would not want to diminish that precious love By one
fraction of an ounce. I will hurt and I will be grateful to the hurt For it
bares witness to the depth of our meaning, And for that I will be eternally

I have no style, well not much and I have pretty much had the same "Do" for a very long time.....Well OK my whole life. I did cut it shorter 1 time, but only to grow it back out.

I have an appt on Saturday and I am thinking maybe its time for a change. My hair has become very thin for some reason, I am loosing alot! Luckily I have, well had, thick hair. So if you want and read this before Saturday, please leave a note as to which of the below you like better or if you have any ideas for me!

For those who don't know, my hair is pretty long and all 1 length for the most part. (expect the nasty break offs that seem to be sticking straight up!) I personally like Kelly Monaco's best! If I were only that hot!

We headed to Holyoke last week for Marie's service. It was beautiful!!

The pictures of her smile everywhere, all of her favorite things and every heart she touched!

There family and friends are amazing! A lot of love in Holyoke! Shan and Luke have an amazing way making you feel right at home! Maybe it is all of the love! It is refreshing to see them, the way they love each other, lean on each other! Marie and Landon are together, running, playing and i am sirring stirring up a lot of Kaous!

Paige and Josie had lots of fun! They have a bond that will last forever!

Paige is falling into the sceam of Kindergarten. She loves the after school program, the Huskie Club! She tells me to make sure I pick her up late! HA! She is very full of energy and excited about it! She love PE, or Gym as we call it, every time I say PE, she says Mommy what it PE!
So I tell her it is Gym class.
The glasses are going over very well, which is a complete releif. The first 20-30 minutes were very rough! She cried and screamed and I know it took everything in her not to take them off and throw them across the room! It came close to that, but Scooby calmed her down and I think when she realized she could see better, she wanted to wear them. Has not been an issue since then! YAY!
We are headed to Holyoke tomorrow for Marie's service. Cannot wait to give that family hugs!

It is tearing me apart, to not just be there.................

This is the Schlachter's Family friend Tami, updating for the family. God is amazing, his acts are amazing beyond what we can begin to comprehend on this earth. Sarah Kate Schlachter came into this world yesterday, healthy and beautiful. As she came into this world with so much joy. She got to meet her sisters.As with the joy came an unimaginable pain.....................Special angels were sent from Heaven to guide her sister Maire to our Father, the Lord Jesus. Sweet Marie passed away in her sleep this morning. She met her sister last night and was at home in bed with her favorite person, her daddy. She went peacefully. We ask for prayers, for strength, for guidance. Please pray for this sweet family, they have been such an inspiration to everyone they know. There faith is amazing!I or Shan will update with further information. I really am at a loss of words right now. Sweet Marie has made her Jouney Home, We love you Marie!

Nerves at ease

Paige is doing so much better the last 2 days, We drive up and drop off! She was hesitant yesterday and today she reached up gave me hugs and kisses, said BYE MOM and skipped off!
Soo grown up! Yesterday only 1 time she went in with a "headache" the nurse told her, I hon, your mom said not to give you motrin, but you can sure lay down for a bit. Paige said, I don't wonna lay day, what do you wonna do the nurse replied, Paige---I wonna go back to class!
YAY! The nurse said she didn't see her again all day! I have not heard from them today so far either! I think she is starting to ease into the big change! AHHH.............Feels good!
Her glasses are in, hoping to swing by to pick them up and she can wear them tomorrow!

On another subject, I am reading the BEST love story!!!! Nora roberts---The MacKade Brothers...
Next week I start the Twilight series**********I cannot wait!!

Kindergarten

Miss Paige was soo excited for her first day of school. She played on the playground with all of her friends while we waited for the bell to ring. She toar around in her new shoes. The bell rang, they lined up. I followed her in and gave her hugs and kisses and was on my way.
930A she was in the office with a headache. Just for a short time though, she enjoyed the day, well I had to pull her out at noon for her eye appt.
We picke dout her frmaes and of course the cutter was broke, so they had to be sent off and will take the rest of the week to get them back.
Day 2 Kindergarten, she awoke early 630A, excited to go, and of course we had to take a packed lunch. She saw a few of the other kids yeterday, so I told her she can take a packed lunch 2 times a week, but not everyday, after all, who has time to pack a lunch everyday!
We walked on to the playground, and.................all the excitement, must have stayed in the car...
She was full of anxiety and would not let go of my hand, we had her group of friends, following us all around and wanted soo much to play with her, but she had nothing to do with it.
The bell rang, she grabbed her backpack and lined up and wanted me to go in with her, I told her I had to stay outside and gave her hugs and kisses, told her she was just fine and watched her walk in............All I really wanted to do was grab onto her, hold her tight and take her for some ice cream! Oh if life were that easy!
Got a call from the school again at about 930a, back in the office with a headache..... I think alot of it is nerves, but I guess we will find that out when her glasses get here. There for a whole day today and then Huskie Club (after school program) until I pick her up at 6P. Poor thing has long days ahead of her!
I did get picks, just not a chance to post yet. Will soon though!

I was talking to some other parents last night, they did not know about Landon. So I shared his story, and he asked on a scale of 1-10 how do you think you are doing..... Well unless you have been here before, I guess you don't know 10 is impossilbe. My answer was a 5 or 6.
At least this week I am and I think that is pretty darn good!
I am also in contact with Hospice to get Paige in Therapy... May not be with hospice since there are other issues with divorce going on, but help is help and I think she would benefit. At the time of Landon's illness/passing she was only 4 and they say they are too small for art therapy/therapy in general....... She is 5 so now she is ready!

She is excited to get them, however that might pass after week of wearing them.
Were going with, glasses are awesome and everyone who has them are major Hotties!
So hopefully this will help with the headaches and dizziness. She is cross eyed! Can you beleive
that, it runs in the family and can I just say.........NOT MY SIDE OF THE FAMILY!!!
Whew, feel better!

She is farsided and this could be why, I am brining home OTHER kids drawings at night. She probably is having a hard time writing, coloring because of the problem and also dizziness. I hadn't had her eyes checked before, because the headahce were very intermitent and would come and go, I figured if it was eye site, it would not go away. But so much for that concept.
Still don't have the CT back.............Praying all is well. Praying, Praying and praying more.

Today Paige goes to the eye doctor, will be interesting to see if she needs glasses, and if she does, please pray for my patience with trying to keep them on her!!! Oh I can already here it.
I hope she does not need them!
She is gearing up for the big day on Monday. Tonight is open house, that is if we make it back to town before they are done. Tomorrow morning she has her screening to see what she knows. I think there is more going on, but I cannot remember.....SO many things, I am horrible at writing these things down. I do write them down, but I foget where I write them.

Paige's headaches have conitnued and she is having what she calls "dizzie" spells. They last only a few minutes. She is also frightened to go to bed. And she tosses, almost thrashes around in her sleep. She tells me she is having nightmares about fire. They had fire week at her daycare about 3 weeks ago and then to top it off, they had a fire drill. Which obviously sent her way over the edge and scare the you know what out of her. I have been doing my best to try and comfort her, reassure her that she will be just fine. Last night she actually slept in her bed all night. She was still scared to go to sleep, but stayed there all night, which is the first in close to a week. She does not want to go to daycare. But yesterday I was able to bribe her and get her in the door with little hesitation.
The doctor ordered a CT of her brain and sinus's. She still after being on Zyrtec has swollen/pale sinus's. So they want to rule out of course, tumors of the brain and structural problems with her sinus's. I do not have the results as of right now, but I just know in my heart they will come back just fine. They have to!
I really think that maybe this is stemming from increased anxiety. I mean after all in the last year, she has lost her little brother, parents are seperated, and now she is starting Kindergarten. Her headaches used to last a while and she would need to sleep and these are a bit different. She is really just taking a few minutes to recoop and better. And with the way she has slept lately, really who knows! Pray for perfect results on the CT's! I will update when I hear anything. Really other than the few "spells" a day, and night time scaryness, she is her same old rocker self!

Fun Weekend

We had a really good weekend. Saturday the parade, Paige ahd a great time, and I forgot to take a candy bag. There were older kids all around us and they made sure they took care of Paige and gave alot of there candy to her as well and gave us a bag! It was great! And the most interesting thing in the parade for her, was the Cheerleaders! She wants to be a cheerleader for the Denver Broncos!!
Today I went school shopping, got all the things she will need. She has this little purple backpack and I told her this morning she could us it, her lip turned down, her arms crossed and the wine came out! She wanted a Jonas Brother's backpack, I told her I didn't know if they had any and she said yes they do, at Wallgreens! HA! Well. I did find one at Target and it was 50%, couldn't pass that up right! So she is a very happy little girl!
She did have a headache on Saturday, she told me her head hurt, I gave IB, then she said she felt dizzy (acted fine) then her head hurt worse, I also put the Wild Flower herbal oil on her forehead and under her nose. She laid on the couch for about an hour, didn't cry or complain about it. She got up after the hour and was 100% again!! I really think the Wild Flower helped alot! She slept good last night, and didn't get up till 745A. I think she slept good anyways, I know I did!
Today................no head ache, no irritability! I hope this spree of headaches is gone for a while again!

Yay, it seems like a long week.
Paige had another migraine/headache today, that makes 1 everyday except 1, and that day she played at a friends house and we gave her IB just to avoid one. Took her back to the doc and her sinus's are still really swollen. But said her tonsils look good and he does not think she has adnoid problems, just allergies and suggested to give a higher dose on the Zyrtec. At least my mind is at ease for the time being anyways!
Ready for the weekend, going to the Ault Days parade and then just hang out and get some things done and enjoy our time!

Relief..................Please

Paige needs relief from allergy/sinus swelling and headaches.
She was headache free for 2 months and now they are back full force. Started her on
Nasonex, well a spirited child and steroid use, not quite the mix you want!LOL
I took her off after 4 days, she had constant headaches and I read all the reviews again.
The stuff is supposed to work wonders. But the reported side effects are NOT anything I want to take a chance at Paige having. So I stopped. She tells me her head hurts when she looks down, so I know that the sinus's hurt, I am starting Zyrtec tomorrow along with White Flower, I will put some under her nose. I also bought a Vapor Plus and will run that for a few hours in her room at night. It has Eucalyptus, menthol and comphor vapors, that will hopefully help with the stuffines, in return help the poor girl to get some sleep!
The headaches, luckily are short lived and she is well on her way out the back door as soon as they ease!
AND can I just say---------------Kindergarten*********OMG already!

Landon's first year in Heaven and random pics

Well Monday was the day, Landon's 1 year in Heaven. I wanted to post that day so that I could come here and look back on it and see how far I grow in the years to come. But I didn't have any words, none, Totally emotionless. My sister came and spent the weekend, we spent most of our time in the pool at my mom's apartment, kept really busy and I think that was all we could do, was keep busy. Monday (the day) we took flowers and balloons to the cemetary and let the balloons fly to Heaven. I feel like I have conqured alot in the last year, I look back and I cannot beleive it has been a year, it feels like last week, but then it feels like a hundred years

since I have held his sweet hand, kissed his sweet cheeks.

Paige's Kindergarten questions

She is getting soo excited to start kindergaten.
This morning she asked what they would eat for lunch, I told her they would have a few options and that she could choose what she wanted, I also said she would have an option for regular milk or chocolate milk. Her eyes got really big and she said CHOCOLATE MILK !
Then she asked if she HAD to wear a watch in Kindergarten, I told her it was not required, She said What does required mean. So I exlanined the word to her. She asked how she had to write in Kindergarten and I told her the same way she writes and they will practice. She is so funny.

Another night of coughing and another day of sitting at work feeling like crap!

Paige's new thing, is to make her own food, and she has discovered her like for mustard.

In addition I added Brocolli, which she really likes, but will not admit to it at the store!

She has made her own sandwich a few times this week and is enjoying it. I alos let her cut up her own banana with a butter knife, and she enjoys helping with the dishes! She also painted her very own toe nails last night. (that took alot of patience on my part).
Her favorite cartoon and actually the only thing she will watch (other than So you think you can dance/ Wipeout) is Handy Manny. I don't know what it is about that guy and his tools, but she is into it! Well, a cute guy who fixes anything and everything, can dance and talks to his tools! Well, I guess who can blame her! LOL
She is way into skirts right now and is wearing pretty much anything that she has without a wine, large buttom lip, or arms crossed and stomp of the foot! We are getting places!

Oh, that is soo how I feel today, I thought this yucky cold was going away, then last night it took a turn. My nose started running/yet I felt dry and stuffed up. I coughed well into the 1am hour and woke up to go to the bathrooma few times as I wiped the goop from my eyes.
Luckily my dad called about 750a and woke us up. I jumped in the shower and woke Paige up and got ready to go, of course she has to be at school prior to 830a to get breakfast there, which is a the only way she will have it these days. So we were out of the house by 815A and on our way. Good thing I am far from "high maintenance". But everything happened so fast and i felt sooo horrible! I went back to Urgent care and am now on an antibiotic for a sinus infection, eye drops for my goopy eyes and a steroid nasal spray. I am soo ready to feel better, I am exhausted.
Still no sign of Sugar, I called the Town Hall today and they have had numerous cases of missing Cats in the last few weeks, said they have had numerous coyote and wolf sightings. Poor Sugar!
Paige had a headache yesterday, I was able to give her Tylenol and Motrin, she slept for a good 30-45 minutes and was good as new. I am going to start giving her Zyrtec at night time and see if that helps, not only with the headahce but the allergies. She has not had a headache for about 2 months, so hopefully they will stay away!

Wow, I am finally feeling a bit better form what has been the WORST ever soar throat. I have had strep a few times and soar throats, but his is the WORST soar throat I have ever had in my life! I pray that Paige does not get this! Strep test was negative, I did get a decongestant with Codeine. Wouldn't you know, Codeine has the exact opposite effect on me than it is supposed to. Codiene makes me WIRED! So I took it the first night, releived none of the pain and I was up till well after 2a. Finally fell asleep, waking every 20-30 minutes and then Paige decides to get up at 530A. She has no gotten up this early in forever! So needless to say I started the day with my Codeine, I knew I could count on that and a few cups of coffee to get me going. Thanks to my dad, he came and mowed my yard and changed the oil in my car and hung with Paige for a bit!
Feeling better, AAAHHH!! So nice.
Sugar (cat) is missing. Not sure where she might be, maybe in a coyotee's tummy or maybe someone took her. But she has been gone for 2 days, this has never happened before. So Long SUGAR D BUGAR!
